Rocking the weekends in NEOhio

Just imagine it: gourmet pizza on the table, craft beer in your hand and great live music in the air. Do they make a better way to enjoy a Saturday night in November?

We think not.

Beach Club Bistro serves up live music and terrific culinary experiences with our Saturday Night Shows each week from 8-11 p.m. This month's line-up features:
Nov. 6: Carlos Alberto Calabrese
Nov. 13: Tom Todd
Nov. 20: Carlos Alberto Calabrese
Nov. 27: Jeff Soukup
Buenos Aires-born guitarist Carlos Alberto Calabrese is a staple of the Beach Club Bistro's Saturday Night Shows. He's a master of all musical styles, but celebrates his Argentine heritage with beautiful Spanish guitar performances. He's toured extensively around the country and puts his special flavor on a range of tunes from cultural classics to rock classics. Listen to some of his music.

Tom Todd is the amazing one-man band. His playlists run the gamut — from Jethro Tull to Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Buffett to the Beatles — amidst an entertaining, inspiring show that often involves up to nine different music instruments. Get more info on Tom Todd.

The Jeff Soukup Band plays the Grill Nov. 20.
Soukup plays solo at the Bistro Nov. 27.
Cleveland musician Jeff Soukup is a veteran of the local music scene, playing shows with 1970s rock bands Sweet Evil and Foul Play, as well as folk act Bait and Switch in the 1980s and East Side Rockers in the 1990s. He's also co-written songs for Anne Cochran's debut album. Soukup loves rocking the Bistro (and the Grill) for Saturday Night Shows. Check him out on Reverbnation.

Fridays and Saturdays at the Grill
A little farther east, Beach Club Grill rocks the Concord night with live music on Fridays and Saturdays from 8-11 p.m.

The November schedule includes:
Nov. 5: Joey Vanilli
Nov. 6: Turnaround
*Nov. 11: Special Thursday Show with Mary Taylor Brooks and Friends
Nov. 12: Turnaround
Nov. 13: Bongo Joe and Little Steve O
Nov. 19: Steve Jochum
Nov. 20: Jeff Soukup Band
Nov. 26: Tom Todd
Nov. 27: Mary Taylor Brooks Band
Weekend concert series at both the Bistro and the Grill offer a wide range of music and an close-up look to some of the local music scenes most entertaining acts. Learn more about the musicians on their Web sites or drop by the Bistro and the Grill every weekend this month to see them all.

Warm up your weekend with cozy specials

Dick Goddard calls for yet another pleasant and mild weekend in Cleveland. We're getting warm breezes off the lake in Euclid at the bistro, and sunny skies lay ahead for the grill in Concord.

It's the second to last weekend to enjoy outdoor dining on the Beach Club Bistro patio (seriously: we're still loving it outside in late October!). We're open for lunch—and football— on Saturday and Sunday, as well as our typical dinner times.

So, stop by and have a pizza, a craft beer or one of these weekend specials on the bistro patio:
House-made chili
Sauteed shrimp in lobster cream over pappardelle
Homemade pot roast dinner
Also this weekend: we welcome Carlos Alberto Calabrese for the Oct. 23 Saturday Night show at the bistro.

See a clip of Carlos below and catch him live on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Al fresco isn't just for summer

Fall officially fell a few weeks ago in Northeast Ohio. Lucky for us, autumn is one of the best times of the year. Particularly for the Cleveland's east shore.

A block from the coast of Lake Erie, the Beach Club Bistro makes for a perfect spot to enjoy warm breezes off the lake, sunset skies and our region's beautiful fall season. In fact, the patio at the bistro is open until Nov. 1.

Two patrons enjoy a sunny October lunch next to the tranquil patio greenery and fountain.

Imagine that: al fresco dining less than a month out from Thanksgiving. In Cleveland!

Our secluded and landscaped patio extends off the back of the restaurant. It's open air, but covered all year round. So, you can enjoy your meal (or late-night drinks) rain or shine.

And as the temps drop below sweater weather, you won't need mittens to go al fresco.

The patio is warmed by heaters that will make this outdoor dining experience like a night in San Francisco. (Except you can't find pizza like this anywhere near the Golden Gate Bridge.)

Now, which pizza goes best with a pleasant evening on the patio?

If you're walking in downtown Euclid on Saturday night and you hear something rocking, follow the beat to the corner of Lakeshore Boulevard and East 220th Street.

CANCELLED: Octobeerfest (Oct. 18)

PLEASE NOTE: OCTOBEERFEST HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

Last year, Cleveland started a grand new tradition: Cleveland Beer Week. It's a celebration of craft brews with countless tastings, pairings, dinners and other activities at venues all around Northeast Ohio — including Beach Club Bistro.

This year the bistro celebrates beer week with Octobeerfest on Monday, Oct. 18 from 5-8 p.m. Mark your calendar!

Festivities feature an Oktoberfest-themed buffet: think pork schnitzel, spaetzel, potato pancakes, homemade German-style potato salad, cheese pierogies with sauteed, buttered onions, and sauerkraut with German sausages marinated with beer and served with homemade bourbon whole-grain mustard.

(What's the word for delicious in German?)

The night also includes 36 (count 'em thirty-six!) beers to sample and seven visiting craft or import brewery reps to chat up about beer.

A beer week celebration wouldn't be complete, however, without visiting all-stars. Octobeerfest welcomes Rogue Ales president Jim Cline to the bistro as guest of honor.

Participating breweries include Rogue, Merchant du Vin, 21st Amendment, Duvel, Smutty Nose, Sam Smith, Victory, Thirsty Dog and Ommegang.

Tickets are $55 and include the köstlich Oktoberfest-themed buffet, 36 beers to sample, a souvenir sampler glass and a Beach Club Bistro growler to take home.

So long to summer

Fall officially begins on Wednesday. In preparation, the Beach Club Bistro has a deliciously entertaining last weekend of summer planned.

First: the specials.

Cozy up to a cool evening on the patio with two hearty specials. The bistro serves up piping hot shells stuffed with ricotta cheese, mushrooms and spinach baked in marinara sauce this weekend. We're also featuring a fish and chips special with battered cod, house-cut fries and Dogfish Head 90-Minute beer.

Have dinner on Friday night to the tune of Phil'n The Blanks, playing classic rock the way it was never intended (in a good way). Watch this preview of the band and then catch the live show at 8 p.m.

Beach Club Football returns this weekend for Ohio State vs. Ohio University on Saturday at noon. The Browns kick off their home opener at 1 p.m. on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Enjoy gametime specials on Saturday and Sunday, including half-price pizzas, $2 domestic and $2 off craft beers.

Even if you don't do football, you can savor these specials.

Be sure to mark your calendars for Oct. 18: Oktobeerfest features tasty foods, 36 beers to sample, plenty of beer reps to meet and Rogue Brewery's Jim Cline. More details to come.

Are you ready for some football?

NFL may have begun tonight, but football season at Beach Club kicks off this Saturday.

Watch Ohio State take on UMiami on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 3:40 p.m. Both Beach Club Bistro and Beach Club Grill are celebrating the season with gametime specials.

Get half off pizzas, $2 domestic beers and $2 off craft drafts during the game. We have several screens at each location, waiting for you to enjoy some gridiron action.

Beach Club Football
Beach Club Football gives "pizza and beer" a refreshing (and delicious) new spin.

But football fantastic doesn't stop on Saturday: join us to kick off the Cleveland Browns season with a 1 p.m. game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Half-off pizzas and beers specials run all game long (there's a good reason for overtime, eh?).

Not into the game? No sense in not "going out" for the game. Grab your crew and enjoy our football specials and full menu in the dining room. We'll tell you the score before you leave—you know, in case someone asks.

See you Saturday... and Sunday!

What's your favorite Beach Club pizza?

The hardest thing about Mondays: Beach Club is closed, and you have to wait until Tuesday to sink your teeth into some serious pieces of deliciousness.

On the upside, it gives you time to consider your options.

Coronado Club: it's a crowned jewel, indeed

Looking for meat? Utopia Club’s pepperoni, sausage and bacon over red sauce hit the spot. Feeling sassy? Have a little Caribbean salsa with your Noble Beach. Want to try something new? Specialties like Grand River, Concord and Coronado Clubs offer a range of new flavors—from truffle-infused red sauce or garlicky clams to spicy mole and Chihuahua cheese—that might make Wednesday a pizza night as well.

But with more than a dozen specialty pizzas at Beach Club Bistro and Beach Club Grille, it’s hard to pick which combination is best.

What’s your favorite? Share your preferred pies below—whether they’re established clubs or your own creations, we want to know your top tastes.
